Poitahue Hunting Ranch, La Pampa as it was...
La Pampa, with a rough-flavored landscape, the land of the Caldén and the Alpataco, the one with the relentless sun and chilly winters. La Pampa, where the nature accomplishes an ideal environment to develop a rich wild fauna, seductive even for the most demanding hunter.
“…Long time ago lived an indian girl of such beauty that she played with every man´s heart in the tribe. Her beauty was so magnificent that the devil himself, who was young at that time, fell deeply in love with her.
So big was the spell of her ebony skin which made the devil went down to Poitahue every afternoon just to watch her sleep leaning against a leafy caldén.
One afternoon as he was gazing at her he became the tree to finally posses her tangling her among his branches in a hug of burning passion. But Nguenechén who was the god of indians, noticed his plan and rescued the girl just as the devil was about to make her his.
Since that day the tree devil walks around Poitahue with his hair as stiff as branches. Some people say they can sometimes hear him roar, claiming for her beloved one…”

I feel better tonight. I went for a long run, which took away some of the guilt from your fantastic Poitahue food and incredible wine! This is one of the best places I had ever been! The lodge and staff are fantastic, the country is beautiful, and your free-range stag are wonderfully challenging. I am only sorry that my wife, Donna, didn´t shove this part of our Argentina adventure - Which means we must return! I cannot thank you enough!
